NHS Forth Valley & Lanarkshire

Camapign:
Bowel Cancer Awareness
Target:
Males & Females 50+ Forth Valley & Lanarkshire
Area:
Forth Valley & Lanarkshire Health Board Area
Media:
Indoor Bar Panels and Drinks Mats.

Objective:
Raise awareness of signs and symptoms of bowel cancer with the at-risk and general population of Forth Valley and Lanarkshire with particular direction towards small towns and rural areas to promote and encourage early presentation to the NHS.

Campaign: A campaign was produced that included bus media, press advertising, leafleting and branded merchandise. We provided our indoor bar panels and drinks mats to target specific towns and also engage with the 50+ audience we identified in social clubs and community bars within those hard to reach areas.

Result: 39% of all respondents reported having seen the campaign, a favourable response given the reliance on low cost mediums. Of that 39%; 59% had seen the CJC Media washroom media of Indoor Bar Panels and Drinks Mats, only 8% had seen the bus shelter posters, 7% had seen the bus interiors, 18% had seen the leaflets, 10% had seen the press and a mere 5% had seen the merchandising used at talks.

12% of people stated that they presented to their GP as a direct result of seeing the BCAP campaign. - Source: www.grp5.co.uk

Yet again CJC Media used local knowledge and specific media to identify and engage the target audience and deliver low cost high response media.
